Philly Sports put to music!
Joe Conklin
with City Rhythm Orchestra
Event Information
Joe Conklin and the City Rhythm Orchestra invite you to a dazzling show that blends the excitement of the Philadelphia sports experience with a mix of rockin’ music, sidesplitting comedy and cutting satire…a spirited homage to the city's beloved teams and their passionate fans. Audiences are taken on a nostalgic journey while Conklin celebrates the highs and lows that have defined the local sports scene over the decades, as only he can do! His song parodies, sketches and banter capture the frustration and jubilation that is the essence of our story, and his distinct impressions of famous sportscasters, athletes and politicians bring to life the people that have shaped it. Entertaining, fun and sentimental all at the same time, the evening will undoubtedly spark memories of the kind of heartfelt family moments that unite Philly fans across generations. Pete Spina directs the 8-piece City Rhythm Orchestra featuring a cast that includes family members John, Jim, Jackie and Casey Conklin, plus Tricia Gozzi, Debra Toscano, Steve Ritrovato and Rich Cox, all performing to the sound of the band’s driving rhythm section and explosive horns. Directed by Vince Valentine.
